About

TD Bank, officially known as Toronto-Dominion Bank, is an international banking operation based out of Canada. In terms of Canadian banks, TD Bank is the second largest from both an asset and a stock equity capitalization basis. With over 1,250 bank branch offices and street addresses in 15 U.S. states, TD Bank has a significant presence on the U.S. eastern seaboard as well. Further, the Bank focuses major efforts on customer convenience, making sure members can reach personal banking services in person every day of the week up to 8pm at night.

Like most larger banks, TD Bank offers the full array of traditional banking services to customers. These include checking and savings accounts, home loans, car loans, consumer borrowing and credit cards, small business loans, commercial real estate financing, and retirement accounts. Additionally, TD Bank personnel can help customers with investing, asset management and insurance policies as well.

On the consumer lending side, TD Bank offers all the major consumer loan types. Both auto and recreational vehicle financing are included. This also includes bank lending for personal boats. Additionally, both secured and unsecured loans are available, depending on an applicant’s credit history and background. Credit cards are also available as well. Finally, the bank also makes overdraft protection available for customers with checking accounts.

With regards to real estate lending, TD Bank offers both 15-year and 30-year fixed conventional home loans as well as jumbo loans for the same time periods. The program includes a pre-qualification service as well as a rate-watch feature. For those who already own their home, TD Bank also makes available a home equity loan product as well.

Again, TD Bank is primarily limited to the U.S. east coast and does not have office street branches in the midwest or western part of the U.S. However, the Bank is available across Canada, offering all the same services. So for those who like to travel north across the border, as well as Canadian snowbirds coming south, TD Bank makes it easy to take care of financial needs in two countries on a regular basis.
