About

Transportation Federal Credit Union was founded in 1939 as the Civil and Aeronautics Federal Credit Union. The name was later ultimately changed to Transportation Federal Credit Union. As the name suggests, the credit union exists to serve those employed in the transportation business, as well as certain other employer groups and their families.

Since its beginnings, TFCU has now grown to have over 18,500 members, over $190 million in assets, 3 branches and over 60 employees. TFCU has two branches in Washington D.C. and a third in Massachusetts. However, because TFCU is part of a shared branching network, if you are a member, you can use the branch of any participating credit union to conduct transactions. Similarly, members of other credit unions can use TFCU’s branches.
